The following serving opportunities are available each month.  

PADS of Elgin

PADS of Elgin is a shelter open 24/7 and provides the basic needs for the homeless. Guests also work with a case manager to develop a plan to put them back on track.

We serve meals on the 1st Sunday of each month @ 5pm.

Soup Kettles

We serve dinner at local Soup Kettles on the following days:

2nd Thursday of each month, Trinity Lutheran @ 5pm

3rd Tuesday of each month, Zion Lutheran @ 4:30pm

Food for Greater Elgin

Food for Greater Elgin is the 2nd largest food pantry in Kane County and provides guests an opportunity to shop for own needs choosing from fresh meat, dairy, and produce as well as non-perishable food items.

We serve on the 3rd Monday of each month from 5-8pm

Community Crisis Center

Community Crisis Center provides help for those impacted by crisis and violence in the Fox Valley Region. Their services include a 24 hour crisis hotline, counseling services, temporary shelter and more.

We provide a meal for the Crisis Center on the 4th Sunday of each month.

Scholarship Opportunities

Journey of Hope scholarships demonstrate our commitment to young people, both in our church and in our community, in their endeavors toward attaining higher education. Three scholarship opportunities are available.

Applications must be received by March 31, 2024.

George Blankenship Endowed Scholarship

Open to members / attenders of Journey of Hope attending a 4 year accredited institution.
